A common place for rust on the Jaguar XJ-S is on the inside of the rear buttresses.  Both sides of my XJ-S suffered with this.  Here are a few photos of the repairs I performed. After cutting the bad sections out, I cut pieces of steel to fill the holes.  I then held them in place with a couple of magnets while I welded them in.
